Kristin + Matt | Shady Banks, Fort Lauderdale Wedding
I know it's been a while since my last blog post, so bare with me and brace yourself for a sappy one! If you know me a little, you probably perceive me to be the type of person who is rough around the edges with a very crude sense of humor. If you know me A LOT, you know that deep down inside of that rough exterior there lies a very corny, hopeless romantic. It's with weddings like this that it truly comes out not while I'm shooting, but while I'm editing the pictures and capturing all the little emotional moments that remind me of this particular couple's beautiful wedding day.
I can say with certainty that Melissa (my amazing second all-star shooter and best friend) heard more cheesy lines come out of me while I was doing the selection of the images than she will probably be able to stand for a lifetime! Trust me, you can ask her! But that's exactly why I love shooting weddings...
To some people, these sound like nothing more than cheesy lines and cliché phrases, but to me, they're poetic words; descriptors that try to tell what an image can transcend.
The details of the groom's gift to his bride! The surprise and delight of the groom as he opened the gift from his bride (not shown because it was an awesome boudoir book that I had the honor to work on with her!) The loving relationship between Kristin, her mom, and her grandmother is heart melting! Kristin's bridesmaids who were certifiably there for her 200% and made sure she had an amazing wedding day! Such sweet flower girls (maybe some of the sweetest in the planet!) And, let's not forget the ring bearers, spunky and fun! Matt's mom! (nuff said, this woman is sweet as honey!) The Groomsmen who laughed, joked, and drank with Matt the entire day and night! The dress, the shoes, the jewelry, the flowers, the venue, the music and atmosphere, the food (YUM! thank you for feeding me), the officiant, the sparkle exit, and most of all, every single one of their guests who were there, not just to have fun, but also to celebrate this beautiful couple...
On this day beautiful light, beautiful families, tons of love, and photographic magic collided in such an elegant way! This is why I do what I do!
And, let me just say, I wish you all could listen to this ceremony! Probably one of the most personalized, tear-filled, laughter-ridden ceremonies I've seen in a while. I cried. And, yes, I know I'm known for crying at all my weddings, but I cried while chuckling! It was an euphoric feeling! And the couple met on tinder! (I now have faith in online dating resulting in successful relationships)
Definitely. A. Wedding. Like. That.
Oh, and did I mention these people could really party?!
