Casey + Jason | Crowne Plaza Hotel Wedding, Hollywood FL
If I had to find only three words to describe this wedding, I would go with: delicate, unique, sentimental
Here's why.
Delicate: Everything about the day seemed delicate, in a sweet-kind-of-loving way. The mood, the air, even the gusting wind that was howling seemed to want to delicately sweep us off our feet. But most delicate of all were all the sweet personalizations the bride put into her wedding, which brings me to the next word.
Unique: Casey took DIY for your wedding to a whole new level and she freaking knocked it out of the park! She hand made (HAND.MADE!!!) ALL OF HER FLOWERS out of coffee filters. I mean, how amazing is that?! The minute I walked into the room, I had to remind myself they were coffee filter flowers and not real ones. She did this for the center pieces, her bouquet, the bridesmaids bouquets, and all the boutonnieres. And now picture me trying to photograph the bouquets 10+ stories above ground on a very, VERY, windy day. Frightening. Exhilarating, and oh-so-freaking worth it!
Furthermore, the groom also crafted. Yes, ladies, you read right: THE GROOM! He made an awesome "LOVE" light up marquee letters that made an amazing display and looked gorgeous in all the reception photos. He also made the beautiful bamboo arch for their ceremony – Kudos, Jason!
Lastly, can you guys believe Casey made her super gorgeous wedding cake?! YUP! This bride is a professional crafter at heart! Her handiwork on her cake was flawless and absolutely delicate! Not to mention the cake was very VERY yummy!!!
Besides the flowers, the "LOVE" marquee letters, and the cake, they also did a number of crafts for around the room to commemorate those family members who were no longer with us to celebrate their big day, which leads me to word number 3
Sentimental: There was nothing about this day that did not make the sap in me come out in full force. The waterworks were going at all time: while I photographed her bouquet that had a locket with a photograph of her late mother on her wedding day, while Casey took off her necklace that once belonged to her mom, when Jason opened his wedding day gift from Casey (a, ehem, sexy album Casey and I did as a surprise for him), the first look with her father, walking down the aisle, saying their I do's, the first dance, the father-daughter dance (OMG.I.WAS.A.MESS.), the mother-son dance and watching Casey look on with love and endearment. Every minute of the day got me all emotional and I love it! I live for days like this. And, it happened to be a gorgeous day with the perfect light.
In the end, a wedding is a grand celebration of love and the love Casey and Jason share brings these three words to mind: fun, adoring, lighthearted.
Thank you guys for allowing me to spend the day with you and capture this amazing moment of your lives! I can't wait to see what the future holds for you!
